Dr Baghai saw the potential of zirconia when he was able to use a hammer to fully drive a delicate zirconia crown into a piece of wood without the crown breaking.

He then did the same thing with a stainless-steel crown that immediately flattened without any resistance.

If Zirconia crowns are placed correctly their hardness is a great advantage.

What is BabyPRL

Kids deserve beautiful teeth too, no matter how many cavities they have; that is the essence of BabyPRL. We are the only office able to restore all 20 teeth with white zirconia. We are also the only office that never uses silver crowns on the front teeth. The reason we are able to make these claims is that BabyPRL is not as simple as buying and using zirconia crowns. They have to look good and last many years.

Durability, function, and esthetics is only possible after treating thousands of large pediatric cases with an obsessive focus on these goals. To do that, Dr Baghai lived near the border of Mexico for 6 years, treating the children who other doctors didn’t want to treat, while constantly learning and improving.

Durability: Dr Baghai invented new endodontic protocols by borrowing from various fields like engineering, material science and microbiology to make sure those teeth last many years.

Esthetics and function: Dr Baghai embraced Zirconia pediatric crowns as soon as they became available. Zirconia is the ultimate material for beautiful and long-lasting teeth. He was obsessed when he was able to hammer a delicate zirconia crown into a piece of wood without breaking it.

Why don’t all dentists use Zirconia on kids?
Zirconia for pediatric use is not mentioned much in dental schools and higher training because it is relatively new. Pediatric dentists have to learn on their own. The few doctors who do, typically learn how to use them on a few teeth, usually the upper incisors. Kids with cavities on other teeth end up getting silver crowns. That is why we are currently the only BabyPRL office anywhere. We proudly show our work and get excited about challenges.

After 20 years of experience, we are well-aware of the trauma children suffer if subjected to multiple visits of dental treatment. We finish all treatment in one visit because what good are beautiful teeth if our patient is traumatized and doesn’t want to go to the dentist again?

Dr Baghai is married to the love of his life Aida, they have two wonderful children, Liam and Lenna. They enjoy hiking, traveling, and cooking together.

Dr Baghai is just as happy in a lab or a library, experimenting and coming up with solutions to everyday problems. Thanks to being surrounded by many professionals in his personal life, he has been lucky to learn from scientists, engineers and various specialists in medicine and dentistry to find new solutions to everyday problems.

BabyPRL is an obsession that became possible by learning from those professionals. He is also working on commercializing a compound to treat bad breath that does not respond to current treatments.
His favorite book is The ALCHEMIST. Favorite line: “The fear of failure is worse than failure itself”.
